Harajuku isn’t exactly a ramen hotbed. It's crepes, vintage shopping, and more K-everything than you can imagine. But hidden just off the main drag is Bassanova, a ramen shop that does Southeast Asian fusion ramen splendidly.

This is Harajuku - but with big, bold flavors you’d expect in Bangkok or Singapore.
Note: Bassanova is currently preparing to move to a new location. The photos in this post are from their previous Harajuku shop.
Green Curry Ramen – Comforting, Creamy, and Packed With Aroma
One of Bassanova’s signatures is their Green Curry Ramen. It starts with a round and gentle flavor, followed by a spicy, aromatic green curry fragrance.

Like their other bowls, it’s paired with thick, flat noodles that soak everything up nice. It’s Southeast Asian comfort, reimagined through a ramen lens.
Laksa Ramen – Sharper and Spicier
Their Laksa Ramen pushes in a different direction - spicier and more punchy. They use both coconut milk and soy milk for creaminess, but it’s the droplets of chili spice that really anchor the experience. If you’re looking for more heat, go for this one!

The Pink Vegan Ramen – Harajuku in a Bowl
If you're looking for vegan ramen in Harajuku, Bassanova has you covered. There's the same green curry ramen but also a pink beet ramen. The latter is the real head-turner.

This pink bowl is colored naturally with beets. It looks playful - like something that would only exist in Harajuku - but the flavor is surprisingly balanced. It's gently sweet from the beets, with a clean and savory creamy backbone.

It’s one of the more fun vegan ramen bowls you’ll find in Tokyo.
Quick Note: Gluten-Free Option
Bassanova offers rice-based gluten-free noodles, making it a solid choice for travelers with dietary needs.
Final Thoughts
Bassanova has always walked its own path - blending Southeast Asian flavors with Japanese ramen in a way that feels natural rather than gimmicky.

Whether you’re craving fiery laksa, creamy green curry, or something vegan and vibrant, this place delivers something memorable.

Harajuku isn’t known for ramen…but Bassanova is absolutely worth the detour. Bonus: they even allow dogs at their outdoor table seating.
