For epic ginger ramen in Futako-tamgawa, visit Ayu Ramen (鮎ラーメン). It's a cozy 7-seater that serves ginger ramen during the day and fish ramen at night.
Ginger Ramen Superstar
Ginger ramen (soba) is the only item available at lunch.

They change it up at dinner, when they only serve their “ayu ramen”. This distinct ramen has a whole fish in it – an ayu fish (also known as sweetfish).

Be warned that Ayu Ramen is like a sauna when you walk in. But it’s clear this heat is worth bearing, the moment your food arrives.

The broth is a bit milky but not too rich (kotteri). The ginger rightfully takes over. You’ll see that in the middle of the ramen there’s deep-fried renkon (lotus root), which has a nice saku saku (crispness) to it.

They also give you a bit of yomogi (a fragrant leaf) to put in your ramen if you like. Yomogi is a bitter and being very potent, adds a new dimension to the broth.
In addition to the ginger soba, you can order some handmade onigiri (rice ball), a nice touch to top off your lunch.
