Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital, is overflowing with incredible Indian restaurants. But Ravi’s is one of my personal favorites. I would sleep in the kitchen if I could – so I could be awoken every morning by aromatic wonders.
Best Indian Food in Kuala Lumpur
Unfortunately their Banana Leaf Set Meal meal is no longer served on a banana leaf (as of Q2 2018). But the deliciousness is exactly the same and it’s only 7 Malaysian Ringgit. That’s less than 2 USD!
This set comes comes with 2 vegetables, 2 papadams, fried bitter gourd, fried salted dried chili, pickles, rasam, vegetable curry, and sambar. If you’re craving meat, you can also add it (chicken korma, chicken varuval, etc.)
This set meal is an eruptive explosion of flavors. You’d expect nothing less from (Southern) Indian cuisine. With each spoonful, it’s a different experience in itself – going from sweet to savory, to peppery to mild.
Massive Menu with Variety
Ravi’s Banana Leaf has plenty on offer – from seafood to local Malaysian favorites like mie goreng (fried noodles).
If you still have room – grab a dosa. They’re excellent. Practically everything on the menu is worth diving into. Multiple trips to Ravi’s will be necessary.
Awesome Mie Goreng
Ravi’s is located in the more upscale district of Mont Kiara – a welcome contrast to the fancy shopping malls and condos that surround it.
Nothing like fresh coconut juice
Make sure you come hungry to Ravi’s! You’ll be set for the day.
