Ginza’s Ramen Scene Just Got Another Heavy Hitter
Ginza is, by any measure, one of the most expensive pieces of real estate in Tokyo. And yet, somehow, it punches well above its weight as a ramen destination.

Within a short walk of each other, you have Hashigo, Oborozuki, and Kagari (although this one is very touristy) — serious competition by any standard. Ginza Ton Box (ラーメン GINZA TON BOX 銀座本店) has quietly inserted itself into this lineup, occupying a compact space that, interestingly, used to belong to Oborozuki.

The shop is run by the same team behind Toy Box, a chicken-focused ramen destination in Minowa that draws a serious line. If you’ve wanted to try Toy Box but balked at the wait, Ton Box is worth your attention — at least for now, while it’s still building its following.
The Bowl
Where Toy Box is all about chicken, Ton Box goes in the opposite direction: pork. The concept, though, rhymes — a light, refined broth rather than anything heavy or murky.

The soup is gently seasoned with soy sauce and carries a natural sweetness and a slight sourness.

A generous layer of pork back fat floats on the surface, rounding out the broth and giving it a smooth, almost silky texture without weighing it down. It’s the kind of bowl that looks deceptively simple. But it's not.

Thin noodles, quality chashu, seaweed sheets, an egg, and spring onions round out a straightforward, well-executed presentation.
Ginza Ton Box - Worth the Visit?
Ton Box is a strong addition to an already competitive stretch of Ginza ramen. If you’re in the area — or if you’ve been putting off Toy Box because of the line — it’s an easy recommendation.
